Joshua Berkowitz Fills Court Vacancy
Court News Ohio reports: "Hamilton County Municipal Court Vacancy Filled"
Gov. John Kasich appointed Joshua A. Berkowitz of Norwood to serve as a Hamilton County Municipal Court judge for District 4. Berkowitz will assume office on April 15.
Berkowitz replaces Judge Megan E. Shanahan, who last month was appointed to the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court. He must win in November’s general election to retain the municipal court seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends on Jan. 4, 2020.

Judge orders Norwood hotel permanently closed
WLWT.com reported a hotel was closed over "drug and prostitution concerns." WLWT5 reports:
"There's not going to be any drugs sold there and there is not going to be any prostituion activity there. We are pleased with the way the case has progressed and we are going to continue to work to bring that property back up to our standards,” Norwood Law Director Josh Berkowitz said.

Judge: Keep Norwood hotel closed
Cincinnati.com reports:
Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Ruehlman granted the city of Norwood’s Monday request for a preliminary injunction as the hotel owners of Quality Hotel and Suites Central, 4747 Montgomery Road, fought to allow it to reopen.
“That means the hotel stays closed until at least the trial on our request for a permanent injunction,” Norwood Law Director Josh Berkowitz said Monday.
